The Kessler Academy 2023


Monday August 14 to Sunday August 20, 2023


An opportunity for talented young string players to explore string orchestra repertoire from the past century.


This mentorship program, for young professionals and advanced students, will comprise five days of intensive rehearsal followed by a public performance in Vancouver, presented by Music on Main.


Participation will be through audition, recommendation and/or invitation. The orchestra will be without conductor and will be led by members of the Microcosmos Quartet  (http://microcosmosquartet.com). (Marc Destrub√©, Andrea Siradze - violins, Tawnya Popoff - viola, Rebecca Wenham - cello).


The cost of the program (ca. $700 per participant) is covered by our generous private sponsors and other contributors.


The orchestra will be made up of 12 violins, 4 violas, 4 cellos and 2 double basses.
